The style manual is to help the "user" understand the intended reason for and audience of this site. As well as to explain what the feel and flow of the site is all about.
To demonstrate an aptitude in web design. It was designed to better teach me how to create a web site that was as simple, or as complicated as my desire and skills allowed.
The intended audience is my class instructor and fellow classmates.
The intended feeling of this site was cool and calming. I wanted to create a site that flows naturally, doesn't make you feel lost or confused. It was to be a fairly large site, and I wanted it to be as easy and as clearly navigate-able as possible. So all the colors and fonts were used in order to achieve as clean, and calming a site as I could.
Font: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif.
Size: Body and link-14px; footer-9px.
Font: Times New Roman, Times, serif
Size: h1-30px; h2-20px; h3-15px; h4-13px ; defaults for the rest of the headers.
#1f2815, #003300, #102b06, #132508, #142508, #1c2d0f, #384c28
Dark Greens were used for the Headers and body text, as well as for borders and accents.
#ffffff, #fcfecd, #edf6c2, #edeebc, #c1b88b, #a5c18b.
Tans were the colors I used for backgrounds and accent shapes.
#5c5c2e, #636336, #bebf88, #edeebc
These green/tan colors were what I chose for the color of my text links.
I used a great deal of images, each page has its' own set.
Thumbnail page images:
These I used for a visual aid to my internal page navigation. I thought it was interesting. I made them with Fireworks.
Personal images:
These are the images used for my personal pages, such as my biography. These were all taken by my family or by me personally.
City pictures:
These were taken by family, friends, or have been used with permission.
Miscellaneous artwork:
Throughout the pages there are various art work images, such as leaves, these were all done by me with photoshop.
The template is provided for you to get an idea of the basic structure I used to create each of the pages in this site.
